Situation: A new, non-profit artspace in Manhattan was attempting to establish a sustainable business model and brand. They are building their community of users and attempting to move forward with an ambitious 3-tiered mission.

Critical Issue: The organization was not meeting revenue goals. The business was not attracting economically viable clients and was not organizationally prepared for growth if clients were to come. Stakeholders were unclear about path forward.

Reasons: The organization was reaching for too much, with limited resources. Their confusing brand position and lack of marketing focus not attracting economically viable clients.

Vision: Prioritize goals, focus business plan, and attract volunteers.

Results: We provided those capabilities. We facilitated an organization development discussion with the director and several key supporters. Clarified vision, goals, and staff needs.

We addressed organization’s income needs without abandoning mission. Got buy-in from supporters to form core of volunteer staff.
